2006 Reserve Chardonnay (Release Date: Late 2008) has just been
awarded
the prestigious Gold medal for Best Dry White Wine /
Chardonnay at the 2008
Sheraton Perth WA Wine Awards. Only one Silver and one Gold
medal are awarded in each class, selected from over 130 wineries
across WA.

Rockfield has earned a 5-star winery rating in James Halliday's 2009
Wine Companion, with only 12.5% of Australian wineries reaching
this status. Rockfield Estate was also included in James' Best Wineries of the

ROCKFIELD HAS A NEW CELLAR DOOR MANAGER
(April, 2008)
There is a
new face at Rockfield with the commencement of Caroline Strong as our
Cellar Door Manager. Caroline brings to the job ten years of experience
within the wine industry in Australia and overseas. We welcome Caroline
into the Rockfield family, not only as Cellar Door Manager but also
fiancée to family member and Rockfield winemaker, Andrew. We look
forward to their wedding on the vineyard later in the year.
CRICKET MEETS WINE WITH STUART MACGILL'S UNCORKED SERIES!
(November, 2007)
Stuart Macgill selected
Rockfield Estate as one of a small number of Margaret River vineyards to feature
on his new Foxtel wine appreciation show, Uncorked. Stuart and his filming crew
visited Rockfield in November 2007, and chatted on camera with Alex and Andrew
about wine and winemaking. It was an enjoyable afternoon, with Stuart thoroughly
enjoying all of the Rockfield wines, and recommending the Rockfield Reserve
Chardonnay as one of his favourite Margaret River wines.
 
2006
SEMILLON RATED 4 STAR! (September 1, 2007)
The Rockfield 2006
Semillon has just received a 4-star rating (excellence in
fruit quality and winemaking skill) in Winestate, Sept/Oct 2007 edition,
"Semillon & Blends" tasting. A total of 98 wines were tasted across categories,
and Rockfield was among five awarded the highest four-star rating in its own
category ($20-$25 category).
TOP 15 FOR ROCKFIELD
ESTATE 2001 CHARDONNAY!

Selector magazine has
judged the Rockfield Estate 2001 Chardonnay one of the top 15 aged
Chardonnays in Australia, in their Spring 2007 article, 'State of Play:
Chardonnay'. With 536 wines tasted, from 60 regions, and over 300 producers,
the Rockfield 2001 Chardonnay was one of only two Western Australian wines
selected in the aged category.

ROCKFIELD'S STICKY! (August, 2007)
Finally, after years of
deliberation Rockfield will be releasing its first sticky dessert Semillon in
the early New Year, 2008. This semi-botrytised wine is made from hand picked
grapes harvested at the very end of the 2007 vintage.

ANDREW'S A
FINALIST!

Our family winemaker, Andrew Gaman Jnr was
selected as a 2006 finalist in the prestigious national Australian Young
Winemaker of the Year Awards, judged by the NSW Wine Society. This is a
tremendous achievement, with Andrew's 2006 Semillon and 2006 Semillon Sauvignon
Blanc being selected as his standout wines. Congratulations Andrew, your success
is hard earned and well deserved.
